George Sidney Waits, Jr.

Mr. George Sidney Waits, Jr., age 94, of Andalusia, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Andalusia Manor.

He graduated from Andalusia High School and attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He also served in the U.S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone during WWII.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2018, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Billy Boles officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Evelyn Waits (Mac) Smith of Birmingham; son and daughter-in-law, George (Jean) Waits of Titus, AL; grandchildren, Bentley Smith Sloan, Maclin F. (Ashley) Smith IV, Yeates Smith, Dr. George S. (Charlotte) Waits IV, Capt. Luke (Danae) Waits, Libby Waits, Marianna (Daniel) Friday, Abigail (Andrew) Singer, Sterling Waits, and Shepard Waits; great grandchildren, Cobb Sloan, Miller Sloan, Dorothy Waits, Annie Smith, Eleanor Waits, Madelyn Waits; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Wilder Anderson of Destin, FL.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Polly Wilder Waits, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sidney Waits, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials be made to: First Baptist Church of Andalusia, 700 East Three Notch St., Andalusia, AL 36420; Comfort Care Hospice, 820 South Three Notch St. Suite C, Andalusia, AL 36420; or the Three Notch Museum, P.O. Box 1582, Andalusia, AL 36420.

Ward Wiggins

Mrs. Janet Carmen Ward Wiggins, age 60, of Andalusia, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 15, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eddie Boggess officiating the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Florala. A visitation was held Friday evening from 6-8 PM in Foreman Funeral Home Chapel.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jed and Heather Blackwell of Andalusia; grandson, Connor Blackwell; granddaughter, Caroline Blackwell; sister and brother-in-law, Ginger Ward (Bobby) Gallups of Prattville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Jeanette Wiggins of Andalusia; numerous nieces and nephews; and all of her Andalusia Health, Andalusia Manor, and Comfort Care Hospice family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Wiggins; father, Edward W. Ward; mother, Louise Reynolds Ward; and brothers-in-law, David R. Cravey and John H. Wiggins.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Halderson, Ashley Cravey, Astley Blackwell, Daniel Davis, Ben Kimbril, and Lee Cagle.
