PAULETTE “PEP” ELIZABETH GLASSER

Mrs. Paulette “Pep” Elizabeth Glasser, age 71, passed away Sun., June 16, 2019. She was born on June 17, 1947, in Erie Pennsylvania, to Paul Panko and Marie Sawdey Panko.

She was Catholic by faith and a member of Saint Margaret Catholic Church of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.  She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, racing motorcycles, gardening, camping and fishing.

Mrs. Glasser was preceded in death by her; father Paul Panko and mother Marie Sawdey Panko.

Mrs. Glasser is survived by her loving husband of twenty years Robert “Bob” Glasser of Florala; two sons Donavan Stufflbeam and wife Teresa of Simpsonville, S.C., Stanley Stufflbeam and wife Lastenia of Milton, Fla.; brother Paul Panko; sister Molly P. Burns and husband Nathan of Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at noon, Fri., June 21, 2019, at Saint Margaret Catholic Church, 247 US- 331, DeFuniak Springs, FL., 32433, with Father Richard Dawson officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

MICHAEL CHECHAK

Mr. Michael Chechak, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., June 17, 2019, at Andalusia Health. He was 81. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Sat., June 22, 2019, at Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery; with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., Fri., June 21, 2019, at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Louise Chechak of Andalusia; his children, Michael Timothy Chechak of St. Petersburg, Penn.; Alex Olaf (Lisa) Chechak of Seneca, Penn.; Melisa (Rodney) Drake of Crestview, Fla.; Dorothy Lynn (Michael) Zdanis of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; Mary Elizabeth (Bruce) Scarberry of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; grandchildren, Hunter Chechak, Trapper Chechak, Tanner Chechak, Jenna Chechak, Victoria Chechak, Elizabeth Zdanis, Lana Chechak, Sophia Ava Vaughn, Wyatt Scarberry; great-grandchildren, Maverick Chechak and Loxley Chechak; brothers, Frank Chechak of Gilbert, Ariz.,; Joe Chechak of St. Petersburg, Pennsylvania and John Chechak of St. Petersburg, Penn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Adolph, Stanley, Ted, Mary, Dot, Andy, and Victoria.

Mr. Chechak was born the son of the late Alexander and Rozalia (Swiatek) Chechak. He received a bachelor’s degree from Clarion State University with a major in psychology with a minor in biology. During his 22 years in the U.S. Airforce, he served two years in Southeast Asia and four years in Alaska. He was also stationed at Shaw Airforce Base in South Carolina and Eglin Airforce Base during service time. At the time of his military retirement, he was stationed at Holloman Airforce Base in New Mexico. After his military career, he worked with the U.S. Postal Service and retired for a second time. He was a current member of the local American Legion Post 1983. He was a lifetime member of the Gulf Breeze V.F.W. Post 4407 and the D.A.V. Post 112. He has been a member of the N.R.A. since 1976, and a member of the Lost Dutchmen Mining Association since 1999.

EVONNE HIGDON WATTS

Mrs. Evonne Higdon Watts, age 83, of Andalusia, died on Wed., June 19, 2019, at her residence.  Funeral services for Mrs. Watts will be held on Sat., June 22, 2019, at 11 a.m., from the Foreman Funeral Home chapel.  Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.  Reverend Frankie McVay will officiate.

Mrs. Watts is survived by her children; daughters Tammy (David) Shubert and Marilyn Williams of Andalusia; her sons Tim (Darlene) Watts, Teddy ( Shelline) Watts, Greg (Shirley) Watts, Ricky (Christy) Watts and Ronnie Watts, all of Andalusia; twenty one grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Clifford (Versa) Higdon of Evergreen, Clarence (Liz) Higdon of Brewton and Charles (Pat) Higdon of Evergreen; one sister, Mary (Terry) Hammonds of Stockton, Ala.  Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband John L. Watts; two sons, Stevie Watts and Terry Watts; and a grandchild, Christy Williams Copeland.

Pallbearers will be Chris Watts, Michael Watts, Kevin Watts, Stevie Watts, Zach Byrd, and Patrick Watts. Honorary pallbearer will be Taylor Copeland.

The body will lie in state at 9 a.m., Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home.
