Mr. Frank Danford of Andalusia passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at his residence. He was 96.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Hopewell Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.  Rev. Barry Wilkinson will officiate. Music will be provided by Tinker Danford. Interment will follow in the Stone Lake Gardens. Mr. Danford’s Sunday School members will serve as pallbearers.  Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

He is survived by daughter, Barbara Dianne Childree (Boyd) of Cottonwood; sons, James Howard “Buddy” Danford (Tinker) of Eufaula, and Phillip Allen Danford (Mary Ann) of Andalusia; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Danford;  and two sons, Johnny Mack Danford and Johnny Frank Danford.

Mr. Danford was in the U.S. Navy and honorably served during World War II. Later he owned a chain of convenience stores, Danford Brothers. For years, he was a regular guest on the Jamie and Lee-WAAO morning show. People loved him and he loved people! His vibrant personality made him an entertaining radio personality and he could engage in conversation that ranged from the current price of oil, to the Almanac predictions, to the “hottest” topic in local politics. He was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was Master Mason in good standing and a member of Andalusia No. 434 of F and AM of the Grand Lodge of Alabama.
