Greenville native, State Auditor and candidate for Secretary of State Beth (Killough) Chapman is hosting a second barbeque to be held on Sunday, September 17th from 12:00-2:00 at the Boys and Girls Club.

A full barbeque lunch will be served.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $6.00 for children under twelve. The public is invited to attend.

Chapman stressed that the event is not a Republican or Democrat event, but a support the hometown girl event.

&#8220I would love to have Republicans and Democrats alike join us for lunch,” Chapman said. Honest elections is not a Republican issue or a Democrat issue, it's an issue of right and wrong.

Most people in this state regardless of political party affiliation want honest elections, and I am willing to work harder than anyone else to provide them.”

Chapman pointed out that in the General Election to be held on November 7th it doesn't matter if a person is a Democrat or Republican, they can still vote for her if they choose.

&#8220I hope many of my friends in Greenville who traditionally vote Democrat will cast a vote for me regardless of who else they choose to vote for – that would be a great honor.”

Chapman was elected State Auditor four years ago and is now the Republican nominee for Secretary of State. A major strategy of hers is to stress to people the fact that they can split their ticket or cross party lines in only one race if they choose.

&#8220I just hope that one vote will be for me,” Chapman said with a smile.

Chapman grew up in Greenville and touts her hometown pride across the state.

&#8220There are few places I go that people don't speak fondly of Greenville or someone they know there,” Chapman proudly said.

&#8220It's always an honor to say I am ‘from' Greenville.”

Chapman held a similar barbeque event in Greenville in April celebrating her 44th birthday.

Approximately 175 people attended the event.
