After a sluggish start that saw the high powered Highland Home Flying Squadron offense unable to dent the Calhoun Tiger end zone, the blue clad Squadron finally crossed the Tiger goal line with 2 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, as QB Deymond Sankey capped off a three play, 66-yard drive on a four-yard QB keeper.

Kyle Tucker's PAT kick was true as the Fly-Boys were off to a 7 – 0 lead over the visiting Tigers from Lowndes County.

Coach Bob Farrior's Squadron hit Tiger pay dirt once again with 9:05 to go in the second quarter, as tailback Darius Chambers bolted in from 8 yards out for his first touchdown in the young 2006 gridiron season.

Leading 14-0, it didn't take Chambers much time to notch his second touchdown of the game as he raced 55 yards with a Tiger punt.

After connecting on his first two PAT kicks, place kicker Kyle Tucker missed his third attempt to put Highland Home out in front 20 – 0 with 5:04 to go before halftime.

With 1:14 showing on the scoreboard, Highland Home closed out the first half scoring when quarterback

Sankey hit wide out Justin Robinson on a 45-yard pass, as Highland Home went into the locker room leading 26 – 0 over the Tigers from Calhoun.

Highland Home continued their dominant ways over the Tigers on offense as 10th-grader Alzamar Wallace scored from 14 yards out to give Highland Home a commanding 32 – 0 lead.

The Highland Home touchdown drive was set up when the Squadron blocked a Tiger punt that was recovered by Anthony Merriweather at the Tiger 26-yard line.

Trailing by five touchdowns, the visiting Tigers got on the scoreboard with 8:09 left in the third quarter as quarterback

Drew Robinson outraced the Squadron defense 66 yards for the Tiger score.

The try for two points was unsuccessful, as Calhoun had cut into the Squadron lead 32-6.

Squadron quarterback Sankey got his second touchdown toss of the game when he hit wideout Ken Bailey on a 22-yard drive with 4:08 to go in the quarter to put Highland Home up 38-6.

After recovering a Tiger fumble at the Tiger 14-yard line, back up tailback Alex Tindal got in the scoring column on a 14-yard run around right end with 2:10 showing on the clock.

This time Kyle Tucker's PAT kick was right down the middle to give Highland Home a 45-6 advantage.

Highland Home closed out the scoring for the game on a three-play, 26-yard drive.

The scoring drive was once again set up by a Tiger miscue that was recovered by Squadron linebacker Zac Stillwell.

Turner's PAT kick was true to make the final Highland Home 52, Calhoun 6.

This week, the Squadron (1-0) hosts the Goshen Eagles (1-0).

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Clay Jordan Stadium on the Highland Home School campus.
