In unrelated incidents Friday, two men found themselves jailed for possessing prescriptions that didn’t belong to them.

First, Florala officer Paul Adams noticed a man acting suspicious near Fourth Street, but when attempted to contact the driver, the vehicle sped off.

The driver, who was identified as 28-year-old Jason Lee Henderson of Florala, led Adams on a short pursuit. When Henderson stopped, Adams conducted a search of the vehicle and found liquid hydrocodone belonging to one of Henderson’s family members.

Henderson was arrested and charged with attempting to elude, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on a $16,000 bond.

Later that evening, Anthony Lee Roberts, 24, of Baxter, Tenn., was routinely stopped in River Falls. A search of his car revealed an unlabeled bottle with five Lortabs inside.

Roberts, too, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug Task Force Commander Mark Odom said he wanted to remind residents about possessing controlled substances without a prescription.

“Just because it belongs to a family member doesn’t mean it’s OK to have,” Odom said.
