The Lady Tigers came back to Greenville Friday night with their tales tucked securely between their legs, thanks to the sound defeat they received at the hands of the Lady Trojans of Charles Henderson.

Tuesday night, the tables turned in the right direction for the Lady Tigers.

Both teams battled back and forth in the first period with Mikki Harris burying a three-pointer from the wing to push the Lady Tigers up one, 12-11 to end the period.

When the second quarter began, Greenville was still rolling.

Jessica Powell stole the ball from the Lady Trojans point guard and then pushes it up the floor resulting in an uncontested lay-in and a three-point lead, 14-11.

Kendra Mitchell was fed the ball underneath the basket

pushing the Lady Tigers ahead by five now, 16-11.

But, the Lady Trojans began pushing back with a free throw and then a quick basket.

With under five minutes left in the first half, the Lady Tigers are nursing a four point lead, 18-14.

That lead was further cut into, when the Lady Trojans tacked on another quick basket, 18-16.

Katoria MacDonald goes up for a shot and is fouled. At the charity stripe she tacks on two free throws to push the Lady Tiger lead back to four, 20-16.

Greenville tacked on three points when a Lady Tiger shooter was fouled on a drive and then sank her free throw, 23-16.

But, as time ticked down, the Lady Trojans had battled back and cut the lead down to three, 28-25.

In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers and the Lady Trojans were in the midst of a shootout. Greenville pushed ahead by nine, but that was their biggest lead of the night and it was quickly shortened when the Lady Trojans answered with two threes.

The second trey cut the GHS lead to three, 34-31.

Morgan Crenshaw tacked on a bucket under the basket to push them back up by five, 36-31

The Lady Trojans refused to quit fighting and fought back to tie the game at the end of third quarter.

In the final frame of play, the Lady Trojans and the Lady Tigers entered tied at 40-40.

Conditioning appeared to be the difference as the Lady Tigers were able to push the ball up the court and limit the shots by the Lady Trojans.

Powell dished the ball to Mitchell on the post, resulting in a basket for GHS, 42-40.

The Lady Tigers took the lead and never relinquished it during the period, despite the Lady Trojans fighting back.

When the final horn had sounded, the Lady Trojans were left stunned as Greenville had just avenged their prior loss and picked up a 57-47 victory, moving them to 3-1 in the area.
