Tigers sweep Highland Home

The Straughn Tigers took care of business Tuesday night with a clean sweep of the visiting Highland Home Flying Squadron in high school basketball action.

The varsity boys won by a final score 64-61.

Garrett Windham led the charge with 18 points. Alphonso Freeney added 13. Jeremy Hunt and Sterling Driver added 10 points each in the win.

Michael Green had 19 for Highland Home. Jeremy Robinson added 16 in the loss.

The Lady Tigers clawed out a big win against the Highland Home Flying Squadron.

The Straughn Lady Tigers won by 30 points outscoring Highland Home 58-28.

The offense began on defense for the Lady Tigers.

Danielle Beasley completed the game with 29 points and 11 steals for a double-double.

Andrea Cochran just missed a double-double of her own with 10 points and 9 steals.

Abby Bracewell had 10 points and 7 steals in the win.

Jessica Merriweather had 10 points to lead the Flying Squadron.

In the B-team contest, Straughn won 40-33.

Jason Cotton, Justin Freeney and Andrew Carter had 12 points each for the Tigers.

Dallas Arrington had 12 for the Squadron.

Straughn plays at Brantley Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
