The Straughn High school basketball teams swept their counterparts from Georgiana High School on Friday.

The varsity Tigers earned a 49-42 victory against the Panthers. Garrett Windham was the leading scorer with 15 points. Sterling Driver, Michael Hattaway and Alphonso Freeney scored 9 points each in the win. Scotty Rabren added 8 points.

The Lady Tigers won by a final score of 44-38 after trailing 27-24 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Danielle Beasley scored 17 points for the Lady Tigers. Ashley Daniels scored 11 points and Abby Bracewell added 10. Also scoring for Straughn were Andrea Cochran and McKena Parker.

The Straughn B-team boys won by 20 points.

The B-team Tigers outscored the Panthers 52-32 for the win. Andrew Huggins had 21 points in the win. Jason Cotton added 11 and Justin Dortch hit for 7.
