No one was injured in the wreck between Marie Pierce of Andalusia and a train Monday morning, but the wreck destroyed most of the bumper of her Buick when the train apparently snagged the side of Pierce's automobile.

The train involved, on the tracks parallel to South Three Notch Street in Andalusia, was unharmed.

Pierce was not injured in the wreck. In fact, she got a ride to the Adult Activity Center on Church Street when rescue authorities on the scene including Faith EMS, Andalusia Police Department, Andalusia Fire Department, and Covington County Sheriff's Department finished getting all the information they needed.

Pierce said she wasn't going to let the wreck keep her in one place.

"I've got a lot to do this week," she said. "I'm just going to continue what I've been doing and what I've planned to do."

Pierce said she is thankful to have not been injured in the accident. Others said she is lucky to have not been harmed.

"Two more feet further and she wouldn't have been so lucky," Willy Tarey, an Andalusia fireman said regarding the position of Pierce's car. "Trains just don't give, but this one must not have been traveling fast."
