Charles Henderson waited an extra week to open the new Movie Gallery Veteran Stadium, but the Trojans did not look out of place Friday night against Andalusia.

Charles Henderson used a 21-point second quarter to build a big halftime lead, and then rolled to a 42-0 victory. Duran Boykin rushed eight times for 134 yards in only one half of play. Quavian Lewis blocked a punt and returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown in the Trojan victory.

Boykin had two long runs on the night, a 51-yarder on the fourth play of the game and a 72-yarder in the second quarter that put the Trojans ahead 14-0.

"The holes just opened up," Boykin said. "The line did a great job of blocking."

Both runs came on delayed running plays. Charles Henderson Head Coach Hugh Fountain said the big plays came from scouting the Andalusia defense.

"We knew they were going to blitz us a lot," Fountain said.

The blitzes left the middle of the field open for Trojan runners. Steven Terry also exploited the middle of the field on a 77-yard run in the third quarter.

"We made some bad reads, but that was because of Charles Henderson making great plays," Andalusia Head Coach Tom Causey said. "It's hard to say in a 42-0 game things could have been different, but if we made some better decisions, things might have been different."

The Trojans took the ball first and moved 74 yards in eight plays. Boykin's run moved the Trojans from their own 36 to the Andalusia 13.

Three running plays later, Charles Henderson faced a fourth-and-one at the Andalusia 4-yard line.

Fountain never hesitated.

"We didn't want to move the ball down the field and not get six points," Fountain said.

Randall Maddox carried the ball on the fourth-down attempt, and scored the first touchdown in the newly renovated Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

"It felt really good," Maddox said. "I have to give the line full credit for blocking well.

"I wanted to go for it. I didn't want to go for a field goal," he added.

The Trojans struggled on offense for the rest of the quarter, and they failed to take advantage of good field position. Lewis' blocked punt set the Trojans up at the Andalusia 48, but Henderson had to punt.

The next possession, though, was a different story. After a long roll on an Andalusia punt, Boykin took the first snap of the drive from his own 28 and raced all the way to the end zone.

Big plays ensued for the Trojans after that. Andalusia went three-and-out on its next possession, and Charles Henderson answered with a seven play, 52-yard drive to extend the lead to 21-0.

Joey Moultry carried the final 18 yards on third down for the score, but Boykin factored in on the drive with a 21-yard scamper to the Andalusia 17.

The Trojans put the game out of reach late in the second when Jhakenda Fayson hit Andalusia quarterback Charles Elderidge and knocked the ball loose. Lewis picked it up at his own 45 and raced to the end zone.

"I was more proud of his punt block than the touchdown," Fountain said. "He broke through the line and laid out perfectly to block the punt."

Both CHHS touchdowns in the third quarter came on one-play drives. Patrice Brooks returned a punt 54 yards to the Andalusia 1-yard line, (actually, well inside the 1-yard line; the nose of the ball was an inch from the goal line) and Jared Loftin scored on a quarterback sneak.

Terry's 77-yard score was the other touchdown in the quarter, and it ended the scoring for the game.

Wesley Liles was a workhorse for Andalusia. He carried the ball 28 times for 79 yards.
