Robert Keith Horry is not riding off into the sunset with his five NBA Championship rings, according to reports by the Associated Press and ESPNews.

Horry, a former Houston Rocket, is returning to the Lone Star State.

Horry is leaving the sunny state of California to become a San Antonio Spur after agreeing to a one-year deal, according to reports.

Horry, who spent the past six seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and helped them win three consecutive championships, agreed to a one-year contract with a club option for a second year, according to news reports that aired Tuesday night.

Neither Spurs spokesman Tom James nor Horry’s agent, Carl Poston, returned messages left by The Associated Press on Tuesday night.

Attempts by the Star-News to contact Horry and his mother, Leila Horry, to confirm the report were unsuccessful on Wednesday. However, at least one family friend confirmed the deal.

Horry struggled last season, when he averaged 6.5 points per game and missed 36 of 38 three-pointers during the playoffs.

Ironically, Horry's final three-point miss came at the end of Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against San Antonio. The shot would have given the Lakers a victory and a lead in the series.

Instead, the Lakers lost and the Spurs went on to win the NBA title.

During Horry’s 11-year NBA career, he has been on five NBA championship teams, including two with the Houston Rockets.
