Lovie Sport

Lovie Sport, 83, of Andalusia died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in a Mobile hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial followed in Antioch Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors included two sons, Donnie and Sharon Sport of Texas and Benny Sport of Andaluisa; two daughters, Linda and Steve Lawson of Andaluisa and Barbara Shoemaker of Andaluisa; one brother, Tracy Hattaway of Birmingham; sisters, Olene Hicks of Andalusia, Glenda Mosley of Andalusia and Gladys Davis of Andalusia; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Randy Franklin, Rusty Mears, Al Norsworthy, Waylon Bush, Christopher Bush, Tony Veasey and Mikey Veasey.

William Wadsworth (Tony) Jackson

William Wadsworth (Tony) Jackson, 54, died at his residence following a brief battle with lung cancer on July 19, 2003.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home Chapel in Millbrook, with Dr. James D. Moebes and Chaplain Russell Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Wadsworth Cemetery.

Tony was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School Class of 1966. He graduated from Troy State University in 1970 where he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha (a music fraternity). He retired from the 151st Army National Guard Band of Montgomery as well as the Southeast Alabama Community Band. He worked for Hendersotn Peterbuilt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Ronna B. Jackson of Millbrook; former wife, Yvonne Smith Jackson of Pace, Fla., who is the mother of his daughter, Silvia (Robert) Ifft of Cottondale, Fla.; grandson, Garrett T. Ifft; brother, Danny (Debra) Jackson, Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Jennifer Samley of Milton, Fla.; nieces, Amanda Samley and Kala Adamsa. Special thanks to the staff of Odyssey Healthcare. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sounds of the South, Alumni Band Scholarship Fund, Troy State University, Troy, AL., 36082. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Brookside Funeral Hme Chapel.
