If at first you don't succeed…. Covington County jail inmate Mark Andrew Cohron apparently believes in "try, try again." The inmate, who attempted to escape from the jail on March 29 of this year, made another attempt early Sunday morning at approximately 3:18 a.m.

According to the Covington County Sheriff's Department, Corrections Officers found Mark Andrew Cohron in the jail yard with severe lacerations on his arms and a possible broken back.

Cohron was attempting to escape from the

Covington County Jail when he climbed the communication tower in the jail yard and attempted to slide down a support cable. The inmate, according to the Sheriff's Department, was unable to

hold onto the cable and fell in the razor wire before hitting the ground.

He was transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital for treatment.

Cohron's first attempt was thwarted when he tried to escape through an attic door at the jail facility after Saturday evening worship services. Corrections officers, aided by members of the Opp Police Department, caught Cohron before he could leave.

He was later charged with escape.
