Johnson, Bryan pace teams to wins

Alabama linebacker and Andalusia native Nico Johnson recorded a game-high four tackles last Saturday in the second-ranked Crimson Tide’s 38-10 win over the Florida Gators in Gainesville.

Johnson completed the game with the same number of tackles as fellow linebackers Dont’a Hightower and Courtney Upshaw.

Last week’s game was the first start for the junior, who has tallied eight tackles so far this season.

Additionally, Troy linebacker and Andalusia native Brannon Bryan made seven assisted tackles in the Trojans’ 24-23 come-back win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Saturday.

Bryan has tallied a total of 24 tackles this season — five solo, 19 assists.

Bryan has started in each of his games so far this season.

Alabama will play SEC opponent Vanderbilt this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa for its homecoming.

The game will be televised on ESPNU, and kick off will be at 6 p.m. CST.

Troy will travel to play the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Louisiana.
