Dreams do come true — at least that’s what happened for two die hard Alabama football fans who met Andalusia native and Crimson Tide linebacker Nico Johnson.

Charles Mulkey and Jeron Davis waited in line Saturday morning for their chance to get their picture taken with and an autograph from Johnson at Green Tree Christian Fellowship Church.

Johnson was signing autographs to raise money to help defray 3-year-old Abby Gunter, and Jaimere Carter’s medical expenses.

When asked what it was like to have their picture taken with Johnson, both said it was “amazing.”

“That was amazing for me,” Mulkey said. “I’ve never met one of the football players in Alabama before in my whole life. I was so nervous. I was really nervous that I almost cried.”

Davis said it also was exciting.

“It was exciting and cool and stuff like that,” Davis said. “It was really awesome.”

Mulkey said he got a book signed by Johnson, while Davis got two pictures signed.

“I’m a huge Alabama fan, and everything,” Mulkey said. “One of my friend’s nephews, I know her personally, got a book (which I got signed).

“He signed his name and everything,” he said.

Mulkey said this was his first time meeting Johnson, and added that it was an experience he’ll never forget.

“I realized that I never met anybody like this,” he said.

However, Davis said he would rank the experience in his top three of his life.

“It was a moment I’ll never forget,” he said.
