LBWCC’s Saints split with Faulkner University’s JV squad Thursday in regular-season baseball action.

The Andalusia team fell 11-9 in game one, but came back to win game two, 13-12.

Nick Bender went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Saints. Payne Wilson, Blake Grill, Zach Ward, Jud Owens, Cody Marler and Michael Tedford had one hit each.

John Bess of Florala struck out six and allowed six runs on four hits in four innings of work.

Faulkner jutted out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning, but the Saints countered with an eight-run second inning to take the lead.

FU added three runs in the fourth and LBWCC took a 12-7 lead with four runs in the fifth.

FU tied it up with a five-run sixth inning. The Saints added one run in the seventh to get the win.

Brandon Mayhann, Tedford, Grill, Wilson, Aaron Waltman and Ward had one hit each to lead the Saints in the loss.

Ward had a double and two RBIs; and Monterio May had an RBI.

Faulkner scored two runs in the third and scored nine runs in the fourth to pull away for good.

The Saints scored one run in the third, two runs each in the fourth and fifth and four runs in the seventh.
