The LBW softball team got a jump on the 2016 recruiting class with seven early signees.

The LBW Saints softball team signed seven players to the 2016 recruiting class Friday morning at LBW.

The signees all came to the LBW student center with their families to sign their letters of intent.

Current Saints’ softball players welcomed their future teammates and their families. The current players served refreshments and socialized with the future players before the signings began.

“We are losing a lot of players after this season,” Saints’ coach Candace Tucker said. “It was very important to get such a good group of girls coming in next year.  They are a great group of young ladies who will excel as part of our program. Each one them can play multiple positions.”

The future Saints were from all over the state, as well as Florida.

Current Opp Bobcat, Paige Johnson, was among the players who signed with the Saints Friday.

The other signees Friday were Emily Brown from Highland Home High School, Carly Cincotta from Robertsdale High School, Jessica Callaway from Baldwin County High School, Tori Fletcher from Isabella High School, Amber Winkler from Wakula High School in Fla. and Taylor Bethea from Evangel Christian Acadamy.
