UDATE: Alabama State Trooper Tracy Morgan said four were injured in Thursday’s two-vehicle wreck on Lindsey Bridge road. A complete story with names of those involved will be in Saturday’s edition of The Star-News.

A two-vehicle wreck on Lindsey Bridge Road sent three to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Alabama State Trooper Tracy Morgan said the head-on collision between a red Mazda 6 and a hunter green Honda Accord was still under investigation at pres time.

“Before we moved the cars, they were pretty much on the center line,” Morgan said.

Morgan said there were two people in the Accord, and from the information he got at the scene, there were three in the Mazda 6.

The driver of the Mazda, and the driver and minor passenger from the Honda were transported to the hospital. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the passengers from the Accord.

Morgan said first responders were dispatched around 3:45 p.m. The passengers from the Accord were freed a short time later and immediately transported to the waiting ambulance.

Morgan said that he believes there’s not going to be any life threatening injuries as a result of the wreck.

The Andalusia Fire Department, Andalusia Police Department, Advanced EMS, Alabama State Troopers, Covington County Sheriff’s Office and the Sanford Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
