An Andalusia man suffered injuries in a two-vehicle wreck on Alabama Hwy. 55 Wednesday afternoon.

Alabama State Trooper spokesperson Kevin Cook said Matthew Hammon, 18, of Andalusia, was driving a 2008 Nissan Frontier that collided with a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Jeffrey Beck, age 51, also of Andalusia.

“Mr. Hammon was not injured,” Cook said. “Mr. Beck was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.”

Beck’s vehicle’s passenger side was facing the highway after it had overturned on the side of the road. Airbags were deployed in Beck’s vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
