Company with local ties in top 20 for help wanted ads

The company who owns two of Covington County’s nursing homes was among the top 20 state employers with the most online help wanted ads posted in February.

According to information released from the Department of Labor, LHC Group, which owns Opp Health and Rehabilitation and Florala Heath and Rehabilitation was No. 16 on the list, with 169 job postings.

Hardee’s was No.3 with 198 available jobs and Regions Financial was No. 4 with 350 jobs available

Others on the list were Community Health Systems with 797 jobs; St. Vincent’s Health System with 386 postings; Lowe’s with 371; University of South Alabama with 304; University of Alabama at Birmingham with 294; UAB Medicine with 270; The University of Alabama with 249; Randstad with 248; Home Depot with 245; Department of Veterans Affairs with 214; BBVA Compass with 205; H&R Block had 180; SAIC had 174; Northrop Grumman was hiring 166; ITAC Solutions with 185; Sears Holding Corp., with 158 and VIP Personnel with 149.

Fifty-four percent of the jobs listed were less than a month old.

There were two unemployed persons per job ad.

State officials said that help wanted ads were up 19.47 percent over January.
