The Andalusia Alumni did it again as they took the win over the varsity Bulldogs Friday night in the annual Andalusia High School Alumni Football game 38-28.

The Alumni came back swiftly at the 9:37 mark to score six points to make it 7-6. Then, a two-point conversion later put the Alumni in the lead for the first time in the game.
After the Bulldogs’ second possession turned out to be unsuccessful, they decided to kick a field goal to make the score 10-8.
Nearing the end of the first half, both teams had one interception each and the Alumni scored one more time to make the score 14-10.
During halftime, points were added to the Bulldogs’ score to even the game up 14-14.
In the second half, the alumni scored a touchdown followed by a two-point conversion.
The Bulldogs scored again to make it 22-20 with the Alumni in the lead.
The Alumni would score another touchdown with 9:11 left in the half. The Bulldogs followed with a touchdown at the 4:47 mark.
To cap off the game, the Alumni scored their last touchdown at the 55-second mark to make the final score 38-28.
Alumni player and district judge Charles A. “Lex” Short said the game was beneficial to others besides the Bulldogs and the Alumni.
“These kids, they’re ball players,” Short said. “I don’t feel like they gave us their best effort, but we had a good time and a lot of folks are out here supporting the Bulldogs and raising a little money for them.
“It’s good to get to know these kids and so many of these guys that are playing with (the Alumni) now were playing against the first year or two when we had this alumni game. It’s kind of a link between the past and the present, which is what it’s all about anyway.”
