The Pleasant Home Eagles (1-1) traveled to Ariton last Friday night in hopes to pull out their first region win, but lost 40-8.
Eagles head coach Robert Bradford said Ariton was the better team Friday night.
“They outplayed us the whole game,” Bradford said. “It was 0-0 at the end of the first quarter and then it was 27-0 at halftime.”
The only touchdown for the Eagles was scored when senior running back Dominek Sims ran a 35-yard touchdown with junior running back Tyler Barbaree completing the two-point conversion.
“They were as good as advertised,” Bradford said. “Our kids didn’t play as good as we would like them to and we fell short.”
This week in practice, Bradford said the team will be working on fundamentals to get ready for the Geneva County game this Friday night.
“They are a passing offense, which is a little bit different than what we’re used to,” he said. “We’re going to be working back on fundamentals and try to get together so we can be more competitive.”
