Red Level shut out by No. 1 Leroy at home, 45-0

The Red Level Tigers put up a good fight at the end of a 45-0 loss to Leroy Friday night.

Red Level (3-5, 1-5 in Class 2A, Region 1) had a total of 139 yards in rushing and no yards passing.

Leroy scored its first touchdown on a 44-yard touchdown pass to put it at 7-0 with 11:03 left in the first.

Following a Red Level fumble, Leroy took it back up the field and scored on a 15-yard pass with 4:26 left in the first to make it 13-0.

Leroy got the ball back and scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with 34 seconds left in the first.

Red Level again fumbled the ball on their own 31-yard line and Leroy picked it up and ran it back for a touchdown to make it 25-0.

Leroy scored again a few minutes later due to a fumble on a 14-yard pass with 9:23 remaining in the second quarter.

On a fourth and goal pay at the end of the first half, Leroy ran the ball from 3 yards out with four seconds left to make it 39-0.

In the second half, the quarters were brought down to eight minutes from the usual 12 minutes.

Leroy scored its last touchdown of the night on an 86-yard run all the way back from the Leroy 14 yard line.

Red Level will play Southern Choctaw next week in Gilbertown.
