Eighty-eight football players from the South Alabama Middle School football conference came together last Thursday night at the home of Dr. Rex Butler for their first annual fall awards banquet.

Players were treated to a meal before the event got underway where Lucky Cope spoke about the importance of working hard at achieving dreams.

Cope’s son, Joe, was a walk-on on the Auburn Tigers football team, where he worked tirelessly for three years before he got his chance to start.

A T-shirt was given out to each of the players and recipients of the all conference football team received a trophy.
