The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs dominated the Elba Lady Tigers Tuesday night, winning 77-24.

The Lady Bulldogs pulled ahead by 11 points after the first quarter and increased their lead to 20 points at halftime.

Elba only scored seven points in the second quarter to bring the score to 39-15.

By the start of the third quarter, the game was clearly in Andalusia’s court as they racked up another 19 points on the board.

Andalusia coach Bennie Shellhouse said the girls did well notably on defense.

“We played hard on the defensive side of the ball,” Shellhouse said. “We’ve got some work to do on the offense. We just didn’t run our offense, but we scored a lot. We’ve got some work to do there and we’ve got another test Friday night against Enterprise.”

Leading scorers for Andalusia were Anjelica White with 18 points and Alexis Horton with 14.

Shellhouse said one of the main problems Tuesday night was execution.

“We didn’t set up and run our plays very well,” he said. “We kind of knew we could take them a little bit, but we kept shooting rather than working on our offense a little more. We’re going to be working on more fundamental type things like moving the ball around and looking for the post at practice.”
