The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles, the Opp Lady Bobcats and the Straughn Lady Tigers all pulled out wins Monday afternoon in the second annual Lady Tigers Thanksgiving Basketball tournament.

The Lady Eagles pulled off an easy 52-25 win against Georgiana.

Head coach Kelley Garner said, even though it was a win, it was not “pretty.”

“We won, but it wasn’t a pretty win,” Garner said. “But, we’ll take a win. I was disappointed in our inbounding opportunities under the goal. We didn’t take advantage of it. We played well on defense and had a lot of lay ups there as well.”

Leading scorers were Erin Byrd with 20 points, Gina Davis with 10 points and Ariel Gunter with four points.

The Lady Bobcats rolled over the Red Level Lady Tigers 48-20 to advance in the winners’ bracket.

Opp’s Mychal Drew was the leading scorer for the Lady Bobcats with 14 points.

In the last game of Monday’s contests, Straughn took a commanding lead over Highland Home, especially at halftime where the Lady Tigers led 39-6. Straughn closed out the game over the Lady Squadron by a score of 62-13.

“We played real well defensively,” Lady Tigers head coach Scott Kinsaul said. “The girls got a lot of playing time.”
