Andalusia to face Brewbaker Tech

Andalusia hopes to stick to its sound game plan today when the Bulldogs face Brewbaker Tech at the South Regional tournament in Troy.

The Bulldogs (24-2) knocked off UMS-Wright last Friday night to clinch its regional spot, 53-30.

Andalusia coach Richard Robertson said earlier this week the team had been working on improving themselves.

“We haven’t done anything on Brewbaker Tech yet,” Robertson said. “We’ve been working on us (Sunday) and (Monday).”

Robertson added the team will stick to its “sound” game plan on Thursday.

“We’re going to do the things that have gotten us this far,” he said. “It’s a sound system. We’ve been very successful in doing it. If you can tell, in tournament play I don’t put up with making mistakes, because there is no tomorrow.”

Robertson said as a result of using his game plan, the team has done better in certain areas.

“We’ve played better defense then we have played in a long time,” Robertson said. “That’s my biggest concern and that is always defense. My philosophy is that if you can hold them to 40, you don’t have to go but 41 (on offense).”

The Bulldogs play today against Brewbaker Tech in Trojan Arena. Tip off is at 10:30 a.m.
