Cardinals over Ladies, Raiders defeat Dolls

Cardinals 9, Lightning Ladies 8 (7-8 year olds)

The Cardinals 7-to-8-year-old softball team defeated the Lightning Ladies earlier this week, 9-8.

The Cardinals gained an early lead in the first inning, scoring three runs, but the Lightning Ladies came back to tie the game up in the bottom half of the inning.

Cardinals’ Tylin Sheridan scored on an RBI single from Julia Smith; Smith scored on an RBI single from Millie Manring; and Manring scored on a single from Daniah Lawson.

For the Lightning Ladies, Tori Hall, Emily German and Natalie Hults all scored on a single and a double.

The Cardinals earned five runs in the second inning and then in the third, the Lightning Ladies scored five runs.

The Cardinals capped the win with two more runs in the fourth.

Red Raiders 19, Diamond Dolls 12 (9-10 year olds)

The Red Raiders raided the Diamond Dolls Thursday by seven runs, winning 19-12.

Leading 10-6 by the third inning, the Raiders had the game sealed up when, in the third inning, Carrington Ward, Madison Griffin, Abby Wright, Taylor Walker, Tajmier Sheridan, Patricia Echols and Callon Woodard scored for their team to win the game.
