Red Level earned its second win Friday night, defeating Florala, 46-14.
On Florala’s first possession of the game, Red Level’s Jon Jon Neal intercepted the ball and returned it for a touchdown early in the first quarter.
“We played a lot better,” Red Level coach Tony Ingram said. “It gives us some momentum. We’ve got some things to work on and a win is a win.
“We’re happy to have it,” he said. “We’re ready to get back at it with region play next week.”
Several plays later, Neal scored again on a carry.
Red Level (2-3) stopped Florala on the Wildcats’ next offensive possession and took advantage when Raheem Bullock carried the ball 80 yards for a touchdown.
Florala (1-4) scored on its next possession.
The Tigers quickly scored another touchdown on a screen pass to Desmond Jones from 50 yards out to make it 27-6.
With under a minute to play in the first half, Red Level’s Trey Salter ran the ball back for another touchdown to bring his team’s lead to 27 points.
Neal started the second half scoring for his team on a 50-yard touchdown on a pass play.
Red Level’s last touchdown came after holding Florala on downs. Quarterback Preston Ryce and Cornelieus Calloway advanced their team down to the 30-yard line to set up another touchdown run.
Florala added another eight points late in the game on a touchdown and two-point conversion.
Red Level will host region opponent Washington County and Florala will travel to play Providence Christian next Friday night.
