SHS comes up short against Trinity
MONTGOMERY — Instead of hanging their heads after losing 3-0 to Trinity Presbyterian School on Thursday at the Class 3A sub-state tournament, the Straughn Lady Tigers huddled together at the center of their court and thanked God for a successful season.
The Lady Tigers came up short, losing 8-25, 9-25, 14-25.
Straughn coach Lori Kinsaul said that she was proud of her team.
“I am just extremely proud of the girls,” Kinsaul said. “They did not give up and they worked every point and did exactly what I told them to do all week. We worked and worked and worked.
“I told them, when you go up there, you leave everything on the floor and they did that,” she said. “They did that exactly what I asked them to do.”
Kinsaul said her team accomplished a lot this season.
“There were a lot of ups and downs this year, but the girls overcame a lot,” she said. “We overcame a lot of adversity throughout the season. They picked it up and that’s all I could ask them to do.”
The Lady Tigers ended their season with a 20-7 record.
