Straughn coach Scott Kinsaul said he believes his team will play its best at the Class 3A, Area 3 tournament at Central-Hayneville High School.

This afternoon, the Lady Tigers will face Calhoun at 3:30 in the first round of the area tournament.

“It’s that time of year,” Kinsaul said. “I firmly believe that we’ll play and go out there and play our best.”

At the end of the regular season, the Lady Tigers finished with a 20-4 record, which was the second straight year finishing with 20 wins.

Kinsaul said the keys to success are in shooting the ball and rebounding.

“We know what they’re going to do, and they know what we’re going to do,” he said. “It’s just going to come down to who out executes the other.

“If the girls can play a good game and I can coach a good game, then I think we can win,” he said.
