The Kinston junior varsity softball team defeated Straughn Monday afternoon, 5-4.

Straughn scored one run in the top of the first inning and Kinston answered with four at the bottom half.

In the second inning, Straughn scored its last three runs of the game.

Kinston added its last in the fourth.
