The contest was originally scheduled to be a doubleheader, but since the Bobcats won the first game, a second game was not needed.

Opp’s Britt Wilson earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings and had three strikeouts. Josh Thompson earned the save, pitching two innings and had one strikeout.

Alex Banks, Trey Short and Wilson had two hits each; and Thompson, Lance Robbins, Gavin Free, Hunter Wilson and Jantzen Flowers had one hit each.

The Bobcats scored four runs in the first inning, three in the fourth and three in the sixth. St. James scored on run in the first.

Opp improves to 10-2 overall, and 3-0 in Class 4A, Area 2.

The Bobcats will host Samson on Monday before playing Bullock County on Tuesday.
