FHS boys fall to Geneva County

Florala baseball coach Stan Gooden said his team did not “compete” against area opponent Geneva County in Saturday’ doubleheader.
The Wildcats lost 12-2 in the first game and 23-1 in the second.
“We could not throw a strike or make routine plays,” Gooden said. “We did not compete at all.”
In the first game, John Bess earned the loss giving up two hits, three walks, three hit-by-pitches, two earned runs in five innings.
Zac Fleming, Gavin McCurley and Josh Parker had one hit each.
In game two, Fleming was the losing pitcher for Florala.
Others pitchers included Jordan Rowell, Austin McNeil, Jonathan Burleson and Brock Goodwin.
Other than Fleming, Rowell, McNeil, Burleson and Goodwin gave up seven hits, walked 13 batters and gave up six hits.
Fleming, Hunter Oswald and Rowell had one hit apiece.
