Opp baseball team is ranked

Class 4A Opp has been ranked according to the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association baseball poll that was released Thursday.

The Bobcats improved to 19-2 after defeating second-ranked Straughn Tuesday night in a doubleheader at Merchants Field.

Straughn is still at No. 2 in Class 3A, and Pleasant Home remained at the No. 7 spot in Class 1A.

In softball, Andalusia remained at No. 7 in Class 4A, Straughn stayed at No. 5 in Class 3A, and Pleasant Home rose to No. 6 in Class 1A.

The poll, sponsored by the ASWA, was released today.
