Red Level, Florala finish 1-1 Saturday

On Friday, the Red Level Tigers and Florala Wildcats split in a doubleheader in Red Level.

Red Level came out on top in the first game, winning 6-3. However, Florala would win 6-3 in the second game.

Losing pitcher John Bess allowed two hits on two innings and had one strikeout. Jordan Rowell pitched five innings, allowing three hits and had one strikeout.

Zac Fleming was 2-for-4; Erik Vega was 1-for-3 with one run; Brock Goodwin was 1-for-3; Gavin McCurley was 1-for-3; Jonathan Burleson was 1-for-3 with one run; and Austin McNeil was 1-for-3 with one run.

Winning pitcher Goodwin struck out two batters in five innings and allowed two hits. Bess got the save, pitching two innings and had three strikeouts.

Fleming was 2-for-3 with one triple, one double and two runs; Vega had a single and one run; Goodwin was 2-for-4 with one run; Bess had one run; and Jonathan Burleson was 2-for-4 with one run.

Tonight, Florala will play its last home game of the season against Pleasant Home at 5. It is also senior recognition night. The ceremony will start at 4:30.
