The Andalusia Bulldogs finished second at the Class 4A sectional golf tournament at Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs shot a 319, with the top four scores tallied.

“The guys really did well,” Andalusia coach Marshall Locke said.

Andalusia’s Josh Atkinson finished as a medalis, and tied with UMS-Wright’s nationally-ranked Bobby Wyatt, finishing even for the round at 72.

Atkinson also received a special award for his round.

Andalusia’s Grayson Gantt shot an 80; Stinson Thompson shot an 83; John Starr shot an 84; and Hunter Dendy had an 88.

In the individual category, Mitchell Alexander shot a 93 for the Bulldogs.

Next Tuesday, Atkinson, Gantt, Thompson, Starr and Dendy will travel to the sub-state tournament at Timber Creek Golf Course in Daphne.

The top three teams at the tournament will advance to the state tournament.
