A local couple was arrested and charged Wednesday with allegedly stealing approximately $1,000 in loose change from an Antioch residence.

Meagan Schofield, 18, and Kyle Merritt, 23, are charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property after they allegedly entered a Cty. Road 70 home through a window and removed assorted coins and change from various containers sometime between May 21-25.

The two were booked into the Covington County Jail and held on a $20,000 bond.

Reports indicate the couple has since confessed to their alleged crimes.
