Straughn’s Lady Tigers varsity volleyball team defeated Zion Chapel Tuesday night 3-1, completing a two-game series sweep at home.

The Lady Tigers (7-3) started hot in the first game, winning 26-24, but faltered in the second game, falling 12-25.

In the third and fourth games, Straughn came back to break the tie, winning 25-19, 25-15.

Straughn’s Brooke Harris, Megan Johns and Katie Hardage had three aces each; Holley McGlaun had 12 service points and led in assists with 23; Paige Caraway had nine blocks; and Kaitlynn Wiggins had seven digs. Harris, Johns and Wiggins had nine kills each.

Straughn will host Pleasant Home today at 4 p.m. starting with the junior high team.
