SHS Lady Tigers fall to Geneva

Straughn’s varsity volleyball team fell in regular season action Tuesday night 3-1 to Geneva on the road.

In Tuesday night’s match, the Lady Tigers fell 22-25, 26-24, 12-25, 16-25.

After the match, Straughn falls to 9-4 overall, and 3-1 in Class 4A, Area 3.

Straughn’s Katie Beck had four aces, four service points and two digs; Brooke Harris and Megan Johns contributed with four kills each; Holley McGlaun had seven service points and 11 assists; Kaitlynn Wiggins had nine service points and 14 digs; Katie Hardage had 12 service points and two digs; and Paige Caraway had one assist, one block and three kills. Harris also had four service points and three digs, and Johns had two digs.

Straughn will host Kinston today in junior varsity and varsity volleyball action. The matches start at 4 p.m. with the junior varsity squad.
