The Straughn Lady Tigers swept Highland Home 3-0 Monday on senior recognition night.

Straughn won the match 25-17, 25-13, 25-12.

The Lady Tigers improved to 9-7 overall on the season.

Before the varsity match started, Straughn seniors Kaitlynn Wiggins, Brooke Harris, Katie Hardage, Paige Caraway, Tori Bracewell and Katie Beck were recognized for their contributions to the team.

Straughn took an early 7-0 lead in the first game of the night, but Highland Home fought back late to force the Lady Tigers to win by eight points.

In games two and three, Straughn’s Megan Johns closed the games out on serve leading 24-13 and 24-12, respectively.

Hardage had a good night with five aces and three digs; Bracewell contributed with five aces and six kills; Beck had 13 service points; Harris led in assists with 15; and Johns and Wiggins had five kills each.

In junior varsity action, the Lady Tigers won 25-21, 25-9.
