Straughn assistant volleyball coach Marc Tracy said the Lady Tigers’ primary concern leading into tonight’s Class 4A, Area 3 tournament at Andalusia is Ashford.

“We have to be concerned with that first, with that game,” he said. “You don’t ever look ahead.”

Straughn’s first match against No. 3 seed Ashford will be at 4 p.m. today on Court No. 2 in the Andalusia High School volleyball gym.

The tournament format is single elimination, and each match is the best three-out-of-five series.

“I think your expectations are always to win — win the area tournament,” Tracy said.

And in order for the Lady Tigers to win the tournament, Tracy said they must put together a complete match.

“It’s just a matter of getting all of the aspects of the game in one match and I don’t know if we’ve done that yet this year,” he said. “To say we haven’t peaked yet would not be true. I don’t think we’ve seen the best they can play yet.”
