Straughn will battle for the No. 2 seed in Class 4A, Region 2 tonight, when the Tigers play host to the Ashford Yellow Jackets in their last region contest of the regular season.

The Tigers are coming off a 48-6 rout over Headland last week, and this will be the first time Straughn has played Ashford in school history.

Before last week’s rebounding win, the Tigers (7-1, 5-1) fell at home to rival Andalusia, 10-0.

However, the Yellow Jackets are also coming off a close loss to Andalusia, where a late touchdown for the Bulldogs netted a 21-20 win, and the region title.

Straughn will have to deal with the running game of Malvin Anderson.

Last week against Andalusia, Anderson managed 126 yards on nine carries for the Yellow Jackets. In the first half, he rushed 106 yards.

Kickoff in Straughn is at 7 p.m.
