Andalusia’s Shi’Amber Townsend scored 17 points to help lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 58-10 rout over Luverne Thursday night in Andalusia.

The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Tigers 13-2 in the first period; 14-2 in the second period; 23-2 in the third period; and 8-4 in the last.

After claiming an early lead in the game, AHS coach Bennie Shellhouse put in a lot of his younger girls to get some playing time.

“There are a lot of things we can improve on definitely — like making sure we’re in the right spots on the court,” Shellhouse said. “It was good to see a lot of our young kids get some playing time (Thursday night). Caitlin Carpenter, she played well. She had several steals, and had a lot of hustle plays.”

The Lady Bulldogs led 27-4 at half time, and 50-6 after the third period in the win.

Alison Daniels also had a good night for the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points; and Alexis Horton had eight.

Andalusia will travel to face Dothan next Monday at 4:30.
