Rec basketball league opens

City of Andalusia youth sports coordinator Barbara Tyler said the opening day of recreation basketball on Saturday was a success.

“Everything went really well,” Tyler said. “We had a full house the whole day. Everybody all hung around the gym.

“It was a good turn out,” she said.

There were 10 games played at Johnson Park, where boys and girls from 5 to 12 years old participated in opening day festivities.

The following is a list of games that were played, the score from each game and the leading scorer from each team. (Winning team’s scorer is on top.)
