Tuesday’s county board of education meeting was direct and to the point, with only two action items on the agenda.
Board members accepted a low bid of $23,800 each for two combi-ovens at Fleeta Jr. High School and W.S. Harlan Elementary School – a move that puts the device, which bakes and steams food in each of the county schools.
Additionally, members also accepted the retirement resignation of Ann Bigger, kindergarten teacher at WSH.
The resignation, which is effective at the end of the school year, will mark the end of Bigger’s 20-year education career.
