Pleasant Home beat Opp 16-1 in varsity softball action Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles put together a two-out rally in the top of the second inning to pull away from the Lady Bobcats to win the game in four innings.
“We played really well,” a happy PHS head softball coach Bradley Stephens said. “We just had a big two-out rally and the girls kept pushing.
“When we needed a big hit, we got a big hit and when we needed a crucial bunt, we got a crucial bunt,” he said.
Jordan McGhee, who finished 1-for-2, and Emily Byrd were the first two outs for the Lady Eagles in the second inning.
Megan Cook bunted and got on base for Pleasant Home to start the inning.
Then, Kat Dozier and Kaitlin Brookshire hit one single each, and Caitlin Jernigan bunted to score Dozier.
