Straughn earned its 30th win of the season Friday night at the Elba Softball Tournament.

The Lady Tigers advanced with a 6-0 win over Slocomb in their second game of the day. Straughn beat Geneva 6-2 in the earlier game.

Ashford beat Opp 6-2, and Andalusia edged Goshen when Emily Terry hit a grand slam home run to help lead her team to a 5-4 win. The Lady Bulldogs lost to Slocomb 6-0 in other tournament action.

Opp ended in a 4-4 tie with Elba in its first game of the day.

Pleasant Home beat Samson 6-0 and Geneva 4-1, and enters today’s single elimination portion of the tournament, along with Straughn, as the No. 1 seed from its pool.

The Lady Eagles will play the winner of the Elba and Geneva game at 10:30 a.m.
