White Sox, Phillies win

The White Sox and Phillies walked away with a win apiece Monday night in 13-to-15-year-old Babe Ruth baseball action at Andalusia High School.

The White Sox beat the Braves 7-1 in the early game, and the Phillies beat the D-Rays 4-3 in the closer.

White Sox 7, Braves 1

The White Sox scored three runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning and one run in the fifth inning for the win.

Stewart scored on a triple by J. Spivey; J. Spivey scored on a single by Watson; and Watson scored on a ground out by Dauphin in the second inning.

Hudson scored on a sac-grounder by Charlton; B. Spivey scored on an RBI single by Stewart; and Stewart score on an RBI single by J. Spivey in the third inning.

In the fifth inning, B. Spivey scored on an RBI single by Worley.

Watson earned the win pitching five innings and had eight strikeouts.

The Braves scored their only run in the fifth inning on an error.

Hudson was 2-for-4; B. Spivey was 2-for-3; and Stewart was 2-for-2 for the White Sox.

Phillies 4, D-Rays 3

The Phillies only needed four runs to outlast the D-Rays Monday, and scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings netted them the win.

S. Mitchell scored on an RBI single by C. Veasey; and Veasey came around to scored on an RBI single from D. Woodyard in the fourth inning.

H. Odom and R. Adams scored on errors in the fifth inning.

The D-Rays scored their three runs in the first inning, taking an early 3-0 lead off of singles by A. West and B. Russell. Kyle Price later scored on an error in the inning.
